An Unexpected Twist of Purpose

The accidental repurposing of a notebook.

On my desk, I’ve got a black Rollbahn gridded notebook. I had good intentions for this notebook. You see I’ve had this dream to design a home in Mexico City. This little notebook was starting to serve that goal. That was until my little cousin came along. I bumped into him last Thanksgiving. Someone mentioned that he was obsessed with drawing. Intrigued, I fetched my notebook and handed it to him. Swiftly and with furious intensity he filled the pages of my newish notebook. My little cousin is seven years old and is a non-verbal autistic person. He sped away before I could thank him for giving my notebook a better purpose.
